Winter Sanctuary 2026 Recap

Another safe and successful Winter Sanctuary season concluded on February 22, 2026.

Over the course of seven weeks, from January 4 through February 22, the 2026 Winter Sanctuary welcomed 51 guests—12 women and 39 men—providing a warm, safe place during the coldest months of the year. Guests had the opportunity to rest, enjoy hot meals and nutritious to-go breakfasts, and connect with Navigators Aaron Strother and Nate Allen for support and guidance.

Each evening, guests also had access to essential services including clothing, first aid, showers, haircuts, device charging, and connections to local service providers—all delivered with care and encouragement from our volunteers.

Throughout the season, we provided 49 nights of safe shelter and supported 796 total guest visits. To help individuals stay healthy during the winter, we distributed critical supplies such as coats, hygiene items, shoes, hand warmers, and backpacks. In addition, more than 1,000 hot meals were served, along with approximately 800 to-go lunches.

This program would not be possible without our incredible volunteers. Over 650 individuals gave their time to welcome guests, prepare meals, maintain a safe environment, and offer genuine hospitality.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this season possible—together, we continue to offer a hand up, not just a handout.
